A ROLE YOU WILL LOVE

The US Billing and Accounts Receivable Manager is a leadership position that has accountability and provides oversight and direction for the invoicing of customers, processing of customer receipts and collection of outstanding receivables. The US Billing And Accounts Receivable Manager will ensure complete, accurate and timely invoicing of client of all US operational businesses, optimize cash inflows and minimize write-offs as a result of delinquent customers.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Develops and implements goals, policies, priorities, and procedures related to billing and Accounts Receivable

  • Works with regional and global Finance management to establish system and process controls for Billing and Accounts Receivable.  Assists in development of procedures to improve existing systems.  Monitors completion of processes in accordance with those procedures and reviews/audits processing for accuracy.

  • Manage three teams in the US and as well as off-shore that deliver customer invoices on behalf of all US operational business units.  Oversee the function that is accountable for the processing of cash receipts and collection of outstanding aged balances from clients. 

  • Ensure complete, accurate and timely processing.   Work with Finance stakeholders, Relationship Managers and clients to resolve issues with invoices and assists in the ion of aged outstanding receivables.

  • Monitor the outsourcing of select functions within Billing and Accounts Receivable with Computershare’s outsourced business partner, ensuring quality, timely and efficient delivery of services and excellent partner relationships.

  • Complete projects as required, which include integration of acquisitions that occur within the US businesses, invoicing for new products and services, Finance system and process enhancements, modifications within Finance for changes to operational systems and processes.

  • Sponsor and participate in projects that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Billing, Accounts Receivable and Finance generally, including systems and process improvement, Robotic Process Automation and changes to outsourcing arrangements.

  • Participates in the US Finance leadership team, management of internal and external audit processes, coordination of managed functions with wider Finance processes, direct report and team management.

  • Periodic reporting within US and Group Finance and to operational businesses.

  • Other duties or tasks as assigned by management.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Required:

  • Understands the role the various Finance functions plays within Finance and the wider businesses.

  •  Be able to assist in determining Finance strategy, develop roadmaps for Billing and Accounts Receivable, sponsor and implement solutions.

Preferred:

  • Understands best practices in system and processes of Finance functions and how to apply these to Finance in Computershare.

  • Manage  complex projects, develop solutions, coordinate with Finance, business and technology stakeholders, project planning and tracking, monitor of deliverables and implement process and system changes.

  • Problem-solve and manage conflict, when issues arise, with competing priorities and projects, limited resources etc.

  • Lead on building positive relationships within the team, broader Finance function and key stakeholders in the businesses, ensuring that strategy and service meets business needs.     

  • Team management including monitoring, guiding and mentoring of team leaders, subject-matter-experts and both internal and outsourced staff.

  • A key and valued manager within Finance, setting the benchmark for all staff.

  • General knowledge of revenue recognition requirements according to ASC 606 or IFRS 15

 Required:

  • Experience managing an operational business process, preferably in Finance, delivering high-quality processing in a mid to large organization.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills providing the ability to establish rapport persuade others and promote understanding and consensus.  Good written communication skills.

  • Sound application of Microsoft Office tools particularly Word, PowerPoint and Project.  Excellent Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VlookUps etc.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing systems and process change projects.

  • Existing experience within Computershare with a good understanding of its operational business units.

  • Relationships with existing Finance and Computershare management.

  • Previous experiencing in managing outsourced business processes.

  • LEAN Six Sigma or other process and systems analysis and improvement qualifications or experience.  Experience leading Kaizen events to improve processes.

  • Five plus years prior experience managing a team

  • Hands-on experience operating business systems, preferably Finance systems.

  • Prior experience managing an off-shore team

  • Hands-on experience operating business systems, preferably Finance systems.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
