The Cash Management Operations and Control area manages the transfer of all monies both internally and externally to issuers, shareholders, participants and all other 3rd parties.  It is also responsible for the reconciliation of all client held funds and assets, and the provision of all management reporting for the activities it undertakes both internally to the business and externally to Regulators and, where appropriate, other 3rd parties.

Main Purpose of the Role


The Treasury Front Office provides an internally facing foreign exchange service for business areas around the group and assists with maximising margin income revenue by investment of money.

The Assistant Manager will be expected to work on strategies to maximise the margin income generated by the balances managed by Computershare, including overnight deposits, term deposits and money market funds. They will also provide day-to-day management of the Senior Analysts in the team, managing team resources to ensure appropriate cover at all times and assist the Front Office Manager with ongoing and adhoc projects.

The continual review of established procedures in order to identify and implement effective process improvement along with efficiency is crucial to the success of the department. This is a core area which the Assistant Manager will need to deliver on, together with proactively supporting the wider CMOC team, in their daily tasks and activities to ensure a high level of education and awareness. All team members play a major role in the prevention and detection of financial fraud and liability and also for ensuring the accounts adhere to FCA regulations.

Key Responsibilities


•         Ensure that the cash management requirements are met, and work with the Front Office Manager to draft proposals to maximise margin income earned by Computershare

•         Ensure that the high volume of FX transactions are managed in a controlled and accurate manner; ensuring that the process continues to evolve as business and regulatory requirements evolve

•         Work closely with Middle Office to ensure that the controls frameworks regarding cash management are robust and adhered to

•         Evaluate and resolve problems independently and escalate where appropriate

•         Use independent judgement to take proactive measures to avoid and mitigate operational issues and risks

•         Acquire a strong understanding of the cash flows associated with the products Computershare offers and proactively document and impart this knowledge to all interested parties

•         Provide training and support to Senior Analysts and establish performance objectives for them, as well as conducting performance reviews

•         Cultivate and establish strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure collaboration

•         Respond to queries from the business by creating solutions or formulating recommendations

•         Ensure regulatory compliance by implementing and enforcing operations workflow and impact

•         Comply with operational risk and regulatory Control policies and procedures, making sure all Regulatory reporting is accurate and provided in a timely manner.

Essential Skills, Experience and Competencies


•         AMCT Qualified

•         Minimum of four years of relevant industry experience

•         Experience of people management

•         Knowledge of money markets

•         Demonstrated ability to innovate and drive change

•         Ability to prioritise and work well under deadline pressure

•         Exceptional interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills

•         Ability to prioritise and delegate

•         Analytical ability and aptitude for problem solving

•         Excellent quantitative and analytical skills

•         Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word

Desirable Skills, Experience and Competencies


•         Knowledge of the products and services provided by Computershare

•         Knowledge of foreign exchange markets

•         In-depth knowledge of Regulatory requirements
