Salary: £40k - £70k (depending on experience)
A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced analytics professional (Technical Lead) at our Skipton office.
This role will play a key part in the development and maintenance of new and existing analytics products and data driven services. In addition, the role holder will provide technical support to the wider team, acting as a subject matter expert (SME) to support team and company initiatives.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and data science skills with evidence of being able to practically apply these skills in a business environment. Ideally, they will also have experience of some or all of the following: credit risk, project management, financial services and prudential regulation (e.g. analytical related aspects of IRB and IFRS9).
Role Responsibility:
•   Take responsibility for leading analytics projects across a range of application areas. This will cover credit risk analytics and modelling, but may extend to other domains such as customer relationship management and business optimisation.
•   Be hands-on in developing analytical services such as IRB and IFRS9 models, operational models for customer management and business optimisation.
•   Undertaking ad-hoc analysis to support internal and external clients.
•   Providing technical support to other members of the analytics team to help develop their analytical capability. This includes mentoring junior analysts, keeping abreast of industry developments and providing team/client briefings, and providing technical challenge and validation to more senior members of the team and/or other teams and clients.
•   Ability to engage knowledgably and confidently with clients and industry experts.
•   Support Peers, the Head of Analytics and Director of Business Intelligence in achieving corporate goals.
•   Work with the Group’s teams on the development and roll out of new products and services and provide support on strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
•   Educated to degree level or equivalent (ideally with a significant mathematics and/or statistics content).
•   Higher degree desirable.
•   Proven track record of managing and delivering analytical projects to a high standard, on time and to budget.
•   Experience of developing predictive models.
•   Experience of business analytics, ideally with a background in Financial Services.
•   Highly numerate, with excellent analytical skills.
•   Good working knowledge of data manipulation tools such as SQL, and data science tools such as SAS, R and Python.
•   Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
•   Good communication and presentation skills both written and verbal.
