Department: Automation & Improvement
Location: Crossflatts / Doxford
Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: £20k - £37k depending on experience 
We have a fantastic opportunity for a  System Developer to join our Automation & Improvement function on a permanent basis, working between our Crossflatts and Doxford offices. 
What will you be doing?
In this role you will be responsible for building and developing high quality applications on a range of platforms e.g. SQL, MS Access, as well as providing technical assistance and development skills to Customer Operations as required.
You will need to liaise with other Computershare Teams and Departments throughout the lifecycle – including design, development, support and maintenance.
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Develop applications on a range of platforms that enhance and support the efficiency of Customer Operations
  • Working with internal customers to build and maintain applications  aligned to their needs, automating wherever possible.
  • Develop and challenge current approaches with more efficient/automated solutions.
  • Create and maintain clear guidelines, procedures and technical  documents for every application developed.

We are looking for a self-motivated and forward thinking individual who is able to work on their own initiative, but also be a strong team player.
Other skills and experience required for the role includes;
  • SQL qualification is desirable 
  • 1-2 years of experience in SQL Server Development - T-SQL
  • Solid understanding of ETL - SSIS
  • 1-2 years of experience VB/VBA
  • Advance level MS Access and Excel
  • Excellent understanding of Database design, back up, rebuild, storage procedures, indexing, views, functions and query optimisation.
  • Ability to document technical outputs consistently, within defined standards and guidelines.
  • Strong numeric & analytical skills
  • Good planning skills
  • Excellent at problem solving
  • Capable of working to tight deadlines
  • Good understanding of business processes across Customer Operations
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic who can work without supervision and a highly committed attitude
  • Able to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience in a clear and concise manner
