Responsible for strategic and delivery aspects of End User Technology, operating as part of the CTS GP&D function and aligned to, enabling or influencing the strategic direction of End User technologies in Computershare.
This position drives the service planning and solution design efforts to support technology governance processes for End User technologies. This person will support the effort in development of services ‘wrapping’ around the technical solution, defining – in association with the Enterprise Architects, business and IS teams - what the service will provide (SLAs) and how it will run (processes).
This position supports the delivery of design capability and direction to projects.
Primary Accountabilities
  • Design and document technical solutions that will deliver the desired effect and match the infrastructure service to the business activities, processes, people and physical environment, Incorporating the latest thinking from vendors and competitors into product stacks
  • In partnership with Service Delivery and Management, develop improvement initiatives to address systemic quality issues. In addition, act as a focal point for resolution of escalated Computershare NORTH AMERICA and Global Platform Service & Performance issues
  • Lead, manage and develop strategic relationships, service, quality and costs with services vendors in collaboration with the Global Vendor Management team. Manage relationships with senior technology and business management within the wider Group
  • Ensure delivery against operational control measures and address via Service Improvement Plans where a shortfall has been identified, working in collaboration with the internal and external stakeholders, within the wider group and other selected vendors where themes / trends occur.
  • Develop / improve regional standards, frameworks & models to support service excellence and ensure adherence to Global strategy
  • Using forecast data to assess demand management such as BAU resource vs. the needs of the Project  / Change community whilst ensuring escalations are kept to a minimum and work is re-prioritized / challenged accordingly
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned by management.
Required Skills
  • Able to create and maintain comprehensive and effective design documents and supporting artefacts.
  • Can work with abstract concepts and use them to build technical solutions.
  • Highly proficient at designing enterprise class infrastructure environments.
  • An Expert understanding of Desktop and application virtualization, Desktop Operating systems and end user hardware platforms including the Citrix suite of products.
  • An expert understanding of server operating systems and infrastructure applications required to run a global organization.
  • An advanced knowledge of Microsoft’s Active Directory Services as well as Cloud Interoperability.
  • A deep understanding in Unified Communication technologies including but not limited to Email, Instant Messaging, Office telephony and Video Collaboration.
  • A solid working understanding of network, Data Services, storage and telephony concepts. 
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Data Center infrastructures and services
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Storage environments.  Able to articulate storage array-based replication and tiered storage solutions using SANs or iSCSI.
  • Able to leverage a variety of Systems Management and automation tools to provision and maintain infrastructure environments.
Preferred Skills
  • Network security and best practices including but not limited to Firewalls, routing and switching, Wireless technology, VPN, NAC, LANs and WANs
  • A working knowledge of virtualization platforms and hypervisors
  • A working knowledge of data services which include MS SQL and Oracle
  • Web technologies e.g. web services, XML, SOAP, ReST, etc.
  • Cloud computing concepts and design
  • Understanding of complex Enterprise voice architectures, including contact center technologies, PBX, international telco’s, SIP and call routing
  • A Solid knowledge of Identity Access Management practices
  • Exceptional problem solving and communications skills are necessary.
  • IT security process and procedures

Education and Experience
Required Experience (5 Years):
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or 5 plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Architecting and designing solutions on industry leading platforms
  • Global environments & understanding complexity of Technology services
  • Service and delivery capability / focus and ability to influence and gain trust at business and technology executive/senior management levels in multi-cultural environments
  • Managing complex activities simultaneously to short timescales & demonstrate continuous improvement
  • In-depth direct Virtual desktop and Application architecture
  • Leading IT transformation Projects.
  • Regulatory requirements.
Preferred Experience:
  • Proven record of accomplishment working in a support environment and the ability to interact between business representatives and Senior IT staff to plan for and resolve complex technology-based problems.
  • Extensive experience leading Infrastructure technology teams
  • Hands on experience designing and building Virtual Desktop Environments
  • A broad experience working in a tiered architecture environment.
  • Regulated Financial services sector experience.
  • Technical IT certification(s) appropriate to architect role
  • CCP (Citrix Certified Professional) or higher
  • TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework)
  • MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
  • VCP (VMware Certified Professional)
Travel Required
It is expected that this position may include travel up to 20% of the time.  This is subject to change based on many factors, including business needs.
Language Ability
Ability to read/analyze/interpret complex documents; respond to sensitive inquiries/complaints; write speeches/articles using original techniques/style; make speeches/presentations on controversial/complex topics to mgmt./public groups/boards of directors
Mathematical Ability
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
