Computershare is a global financial services organisation, specialising in share registry, employee share plans and other financial business services. The Dealing Services unit provide UK and international share dealing services to both corporate clients
Main Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Settlements Senior Team Member, the role is extremely varied, ranging from the checking and timely dispatch of advice notes, the monitoring and resolution of matching failures, through to ensuring the timely settlement of all trades. The day to day role requires communication with many areas of the business and externally with Computershare’s settlement counterparties.
Key Responsibilities  
  • Ensure all trades are calculated accurately and output is generated correctly.
  • Be responsible for checking the personalisation of advice notes, and the dispatch of advice notes in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the services and the applicable FCA regulations.
  • Ensure relevant systems (including CREST and 3rd party custodian platforms) are monitored such that all trades being matched, settled or deleted on the due date, and fines associated with this activity are at a minimum.
  • Be responsible for checking and signing-off tasks completed by other Settlement Team Members.
  • Reporting regulatory breaches in a timely and consistent manner to Compliance.
  • Actively resolve client money/reconciliation discrepancies with the Reconciliation Team, ensuring queries are resolved within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Monitor incoming emails and ensure appropriate actions are taken within the required timescales.
  • Identify and recommend improvements for working practices, ensuring procedures are followed and kept up to date.
  • Actively participating in the implementation of new dealing services, setting up of calculation schedules, identifying potential issues/solutions.
  • Actively communicate with the Settlements Manager on a regular basis to discuss progress, dependencies, and to assist manage workloads.
  • Assist with the training of other members of the Settlement Team.
  • Maintain good professional relationships with all parties internally and externally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills, Experience and Competencies 
  • Good level of competence with PC applications: - Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work accurately under intense pressure and to remain professional at all times
  • Ability to prioritise workloads, meet rigid deadlines and adhere to FCA regulations
  • Good Compliance and Regulatory knowledge and awareness
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management skills and organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a polite and professional telephone manner
  • Reliability, flexibility and a positive approach to a rapidly changing and expanding environment and a willingness to contribute to the department in achieving its targets
 Desirable Skills, Experience and Competencies  
  • Knowledge of Employee Shares Plans would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of financial markets, settlement cycles and in particular CREST settlement.
  • Knowledge of SCRIP and in particular the Trading System.
