Job Description

Main Purpose of the Role
This role is going to be part of CMOC Reporting team. The team is responsible for delivering strategic, operationally focused performance reporting and Tactical reporting solutions.
This is senior role on the team hence the role holder will be expected to understand the longer-term reporting strategy and effectively using this to derive the day to day workloads. Deputising for the line manager and supporting the junior colleagues on the team to ensure all the day to day tasks are completed within the timeframes.
Senior Reporting Analyst will also be responsible for Maintenance and development of new and existing reports. Senior Reporting Analyst will be liaising and/or providing outputs to non-technical audience.
Sound working knowledge of Microsoft SQL is must for this role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Development/maintenance of the reports: the role holder will be developing new reports from scratch or making changes into the existing reports to either maintain or to fix defects.
  • Delivery of the reports:  A number of reports are delivered both internally and externally, they must be all delivered according to the agreed SLAs and quality assurance measures. 
  • Datawarehouse: developing sound knowledge of the data available on the datawarehouse. Supporting with any changes and testing activities.
  • Keeping process mapping documents and documentation up-to-date, all processes should have supporting handover notes available so other colleagues can cover in Planned/unplanned absence
  • Oversee the day to day tasks, track other junior colleagues on the team and ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Controls are in place to deliver the reports on time, this includes clear visibility of ownership, Quality controls, authorisation where needed and escalation routes.
  • Supporting and covering for other colleagues within in the immediate team
  • Develop and execute appropriate controls in order to identify and escalate any issues/breaches to the line manager
Essential Skills, Experience and Competencies
  • Good experience of reporting domain and relevant tools/technologies
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft SQL and SSRS.
  • Any experience to VBA, Microsoft Access, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS would be highly beneficial.
  • Any experience of regulatory rules or regulatory reporting will be beneficial.
  • Ability to interpret trending with large amounts of data drawing reasonable conclusions
  • High degree of numeracy
  • Analytical ability and aptitude for problem solving
  • Ability to build relationships effectively, both within the immediate team and wider business
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • A professional and courteous approach

  • Experience of successfully working within a role which is highly numeric or technical
