The Computershare Senior Information Technology (IT) Auditor role is primarily responsible for planning, executing and reporting on integrated and information technology related audits in the North America region in accordance with the annual audit plan. In addition, the Senior IT Auditor will perform special projects, assist in the annual internal audit planning process, and build relationships within the business.

This is an exciting “hands-on” IT Audit role within a small team of 9 IT audit professionals.  The team is led by the Global Head of IT Audit, a long time ISACA Board member and contributor to the IT audit profession.  The successful applicant will receive an annual ISACA membership paid for by CPU.  CPU also assists IT audit team members with the cost of professional certifications/exams & exam preparation materials (e.g. ISACA, IIA) and will cover some costs for training to maintain professional certifications

 Primary Accountabilities

  •  Risk-based Audit Planning that is focused on protecting and enhancing the value of the businesses of Computershare (CPU) and CPU’s clients.

  • Deliver high quality, well controlled, independent and objective Audit Execution, supported by comprehensive audit files.

  • Effective Audit Program Management to ensure the timely delivery of audit plans and mitigation of delivery obstacles.

  • Communicate effectively and confidently throughout the Computershare Technology Services (CTS) and Global Information Security (GIS) groups and CPU, with regional senior management and business heads, clients and external auditors.

  • Coach and lead IT auditors and senior IT auditors and help cultivate a working environment where team members feel empowered and motivated.

  • Manage compliance with Computershare’s (CPU) global policies, procedures and processes, including CPU Internal Audit methodology.

  • Be a facilitator for change, including identifying enhancement opportunities and challenging the status quo, to improve the operation of the CPU Internal Audit function

  • Other duties or tasks as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

  •  Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  •  5  years experience as an IT Auditor or IT Risk professional within a commercial organization


  • Specialist skills and knowledge of technology platforms and/or IT Audit including usage of Computer Aided Audit Techniques (CAATs) / data analytics (ACL)

  • Conversant with IT control frameworks (e.g. ISO27002, COBIT)

  • Experience in the financial industry: insurance, banking, regulatory compliance

Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations:

Preferred:  Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP),  Certified Information System Security Manager (CISM), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC),  Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or equivalent.

Travel Required:

It is expected that this position may include travel up to 10% of the time. This is subject to change based on many factors, including business needs.

 Language Ability

Ability to read/analyze/interpret business periodicals/ journals/technical procedures/gov. regulations; write reports/business correspondence/procedure manuals; effectively present information/respond to questions from managers/clients/customers/public.

Mathematical Ability

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
