About the role:

As part of a major transformation project, we are seeking a Senior Developer to work in our Global Technology Services team currently developing an enterprise system for global application.  Already live in Australia, the next roll-out is planned for late 2019/2020 for North America. 

You will collaboratively work with Architects and Developers to lead design and development using C coding and Linux platform knowledge, as well as being exposed to Python programming language, GIT and OpenSource technologies including .NET Core, Nginx, Redis, and RabbitMQ.  In addition, you will mentor and guide junior developers in the team.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the design, development and maintenance of software to the required standards to ensure continual delivery of quality code to production
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Be a source of expert knowledge
  • Communicate and share learnings and knowledge with the team
  • Participate in the development lifecycle methodology including analysis, development, code reviews, unit testing, system integration and debugging of issues
  • Solicit requirements from stakeholders, create design documentation, take ownership of a solution
  • Actively participate in architectural / technical strategy for products

To ensure your success in this role you will bring:

  • C / C language experience and exposure to Linux  
  • Proven software development experience through all phases of the SDLC
  • Experience integrating products to interface with multiple applications
  • Experience technical mentoring of new developers
  • Ability to complete quality deliverables on time
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and keen to learn
  • An inquisitive nature

Desired experience:

  • Prior development experience on large system implementation projects
  • Exposure to Agile practices
  • Tertiary qualifications in Computing or Information Technology
