Computershare Technology Services (CTS) provides global technology and infrastructure support for existing Computershare proprietary software together with a full range of development services for new products.

About the role:

As part of our Global Development leadership team, we are seeking a Team Leader to head a small team of Developers, currently developing a proprietary enterprise system for global application. Already live in Australia, the next roll-out is planned for late 2019/2020 for North America.

Reporting to the Head of Software Engineering, Global Development, you will be responsible for the requirements management, design and development of the proprietary system, and management of the development team.

Working closely with our project team in North America, we are seeking someone with flexibility to liaise across international time zones, and overseas travel, if required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Create and follow application roadmaps aligned with our strategy
  • Prioritise and schedule team member’s activities
  • Ensure quality deliverables are achieved within budget and timeframes
  • Assist with the resolution of technical problems
  • Liaise and coordinate activities with other internal development teams
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, direction and technical guidance to the team

To ensure your success in this role you will bring:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Developer / Team Leader within a large project delivery environment
  • Significant experience in enterprise application development across the SDLC
  • COBOL experience
  • Excellent people management skills
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Exceptional analytical and research skills
  • High levels of initiative with ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • A strong customer focus
  • An adaptable approach

Desired experience:

  • Linux and/or OpenVMS knowledge
  • Bash scripting experience
  • Exposure to Agile practices
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Information Technology or related
