Job Description

Scope of the Position:
The incumbent is responsible for the accurate and timely inserting, sorting and distribution of mail packs as per the mail processing summary specifications. They would also be responsible for following the operational guidelines for the mailing equipment, the procedures and policies of Computershare Document Services and any Canada Post Regulations.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Efficient and timely operation of mail machines following instructions on work order form.
  • Ensure that all mail is sorted in an efficient and timely manner according to the instructions specified in the job bag requirements
  • Verify and record the number of pieces mailed, spoiled and reordered on the job bag form, insuring complete reconciliation on a page, set and job level.
  • Responsible for initialling and dating all work completed
  • Maintain the mailing machines by periodically removing dust and other foreign particles from the machine feeders and belt.
  • Communicate any problems to the team leader and the following shift
  • Communicate openly, timely and in a clear manner any issues regarding mailing function
  • Participate in functional tours
  • Follow mailroom procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
  • Attend team meetings
  • Attend training seminars to familiarize onself with changes in technologies, workflow, postal regulations
  • All other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager
Skills and Experience Required:
  • 1-2 years’ experience with high volume mail insertion equipment
  • Experience with Canada Post regulations and completion of SOM/ESOM
  • Knowledge of industry requirements as it relates to the processing and distribution of jobs
  • Word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and database software knowledge is recommended
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
