Job Summary
The manager participates in the strategic planning for the NA Training and Development team and is responsible for executing the strategies applicable to their sphere of accountability. They will be responsible for:
  • Assessing needs for training and managing the development and delivery of training programs tied to the achievement of corporate objectives.
  • Developing and delivering training solutions for organization development
  • Implementing performance support tools
  • Building and leveraging relationships with their local management team with a focus on fostering a partnership in developing all employees.
  • Managing & coaching a team of training professionals, supporting the Vice President of Training and Development and assisting with special projects as required.
Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions
  • Partners with the North American T&D management team to develop and implement T&D practices and initiatives. Coordinates and continues improving the activities and programs of the T&D function throughout the region.
  • Provides T&D management support to a specified region and/or business unit, including the implementation of the T&D function. 
  • Leads, manages and develops the Training and Development team under their accountability, including coaching, counselling, training and workflow assignment.  Evaluates the T&D strategy, structure and team plan for continual improvement. 
  • Participates in the development of the company’s T&D related plans and programs.  Remains current on T&D best practices.
  • Oversees the management of administrative T&D functions, such as: training records, surveys, budget, use qualitative and quantitative metrics to measure program successes, ROI, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
  • Travel to other North American locations as needed.

Required:
  • Broad knowledge of all aspects of the learning function; in-depth knowledge of core business functions, ability to plan work, manage projects and staff, management and leadership skills, and ability to communicate at all levels.

  • Works effectively in a global arena.
  • Experience in managing remote staff preferred.
Preferred:
Education
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
 
Required:
  •  3 years in L&D Management experience  
Preferred:
  • 7-10 years’ experience in the T&D field
Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations
Required:
Preferred:  
  • Association for Talent Development (ATD):  Certified Professional in Learning & Performance (CPLP) certification
  • Certified facilitator for leadership development programs
Driving Responsibilities
This position requires the use of a company or personal vehicle for business travel (outside of standard commute to work) more than two times per week?
