Recent changes in data protection legislation have increased the obligations on the organisation and the levels of monitoring and reporting performed by the Privacy Team to provide comfort that the personal data of individuals entrusted to us is secured and processed appropriately.

This role presents an opportunity to join the Computershare Privacy Team and support the Data Protection Officer across the UK, Channel Islands, Ireland and Africa (UCIA) region. The role will report to the Regional Data Protection Officer and can be primarily based at the Bristol or Skipton office.

The role will require some travel to other offices in the region to support the Data Protection Framework across the region.

The role will assist the Regional Data Protection Officer with the following:

  • Assessing the design and operating effectiveness of Computershare’s systems and controls across the UCIA region in relation to data protection.
  • Ensuring that all staff members receive appropriate data protection training and promoting data protection awareness throughout the business.
  • Coordination and effective delivery of the Data Protection Advisory Group and other relevant committee meetings.
  • Delivery of management information internally and to clients relating to data protection.
  • Development and oversight of the Data Protection Framework (policy, standards and procedures).
  • Provision of technical support to the business on matters relating to data protection (including client interaction).
  • Creating effective relationships with Senior Management and business unit heads to facilitate the delivery of objectives as determined by the Data Protection Officer.
  • Assessing and monitoring data protection issues and complaints received to ensure that breaches are reported as required and that any corrective action is taken as appropriate.
  • Monitoring changes in data protection regulation and externally reported breaches.
