Job Purpose


The role holder is a technical expert in Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, and is responsible for instigating, leading and developing BI solution designs for the CLS (Computershare Loan Services) Data Warehouse and providing a technical assessment of change. They will make a significant contribution to the CLS Data Warehouse Design Strategy, providing technical leadership to direct and advise warehouse development teams implementing the technical strategy of the CLS Enterprise Data Warehouse. 

The role holder will develop, manage and optimise the BI data model and database designs for the build, maintenance and enhancement of data warehouse processing, data integration, data quality and MDM, to ensure appropriate analytical data is delivered to meet the business needs for timely and accurate BI data. The role holder will define the technical strategies for the CLS Data Warehouse, detailing the design requirements to be adopted by the development teams for implementation.


Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and availability is maintained across the CLS Data Warehouse, and that delivered solutions are both efficient and fit for purpose.
  • Actively manage relationships with key stakeholders across Computershare to: understand business requirements, and challenge where appropriate; analyse and propose a variety of solutions; negotiate deadlines and manage expectations for delivery.
  • Provide clear and positive engagement to all clients to monitor performance management, resolve customer queries and support client delivery.
  • Manage the CLS BI platforms, environments and data architecture to provide robust data to support critical operational processes, reporting and analytics across CLS.
  • Deliver solutions that ensure that BI data is held in a robust, auditable and efficient manner, suitable controls are in place to support data quality and enterprise wide 'consumers' have the appropriate level of access in which to perform their duties.
  • Provide leadership in the development of data, reporting and ETL solutions to ensure that the appropriate solution is delivered to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Ensure Change Control and auditability are maintained for all Data Warehouse and Reporting Solutions.
  • Add value through continuous improvement addressing or highlighting data integrity issues, appropriately challenging processes and recommending enhancements or efficiency savings where appropriate. Actively seek process improvement opportunities.
  • Manage & resolve any issues relating to the CLS data warehouse and reporting solutions.

Skills / Experience & Competencies

  • Numerical/Information Systems degree or equivalent and extensive related Reporting/Data Analysis/Data Warehousing experience.
  • Significant experience in Business Intelligence, working with complex BI systems, with proven track record in a role that requires significant technical leadership.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence technologies, in particular: Microsoft BI (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
  • Highly data literate with a sound knowledge of BI data architectures
  • Expert understanding and knowledge of data modelling and data warehousing design concepts, principles and methodologies including dimensional modelling and relational database concepts..
  • Ability to establish and maintain a high level of stakeholder trust and confidence.  Ability and experience in engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience for collecting business requirements from customer and transforming these into BI data warehouse data processes, schema and BI reporting solutions.
