Coordinator II, Business Controls

Business Controls facilitates responses to internal testing, external client/regulatory audits, and third-party operational audits. Internal quality control reviews of SLS’ Special and Core servicing areas are performed along with portfolio wide illogical data reviews. Account research and root cause analysis reviews are performed monthly. Facilitation and management of SLS’ remediation plan tracker and validation testing.

Job Summary
Audit Support Function: The Business Controls Coordinator II will assist with documentation
requests for internal operational testing, external client/regulator audits, and third party operational audits. Works with business units to address any operational issues uncovered through the internal audit program and/or any third-party review and develops rebuttal responses.
Quality Control Function: Loan level quality control reviews and transactional testing of SLS’ operational areas will be performed monthly. Works with business units to address any operational issues uncovered through the quality control testing. Duties may include developing and maintaining daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports (both process and exception based).
Position Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Audit Support Function Perform loan level research to be provided to internal/external auditors;
  • Quality Control Function: Review illogical data exceptions for continuous monitoring testing and loan level research for ad-hoc/transactional testing
  • Audit Support Function: Work with internal business units and external clients to  address operational issues identified during internal or external audits/reviews;
  • Quality Control Function: Work with internal business units  on addressing operational issues identified during quality control testing
  • Audit Support and Quality Control Function: Perform root cause analysis reviews
  • Audit Support and Quality Control Function: Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot and implement enhancements to existing workflow processes or interfaces with the business unit leadership including IT
  • Audit Support and Quality Control Function: Attend and/or facilitate various meetings to represent the business units as needed. Able to speak to issues or take away items for further review
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned by management.

Experience
Required:
  • 1 years of experience in the loan servicing preferably in a Mortgage Servicing environment
Preferred:
  • 2 Years Mortgage Servicing
  • 1 years of experience in a research, audit, process improvement, or analytic/reporting encouraged
 
Language Ability
Ability to read/interpret documents such as policy and procedure documents; write responses documenting audit research and proposed solutions; and communicate effectively with  operational areas and management within the organization.
Mathematical Ability
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
