Computershare are currently recruiting for a Senior BI Developer to join our team in West Yorkshire. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fantastic BI Developers in Computershare’s BI & A Department.

Job Purpose
As the BI Lead Developer you will work as part of a team to deliver high-quality, accurate data and reporting solutions which satisfy customer expectations.
You will collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and to design and implement reporting/data management systems to facilitate business decisions or provide commercial opportunities whilst supporting and maintaining existing systems.
As the Senior BI Developer you will also provide technical leadership within your development team and influence continuous improvement across the wider department.
Key Accountabilities
  • Apply technical knowledge and expertise to: create and maintain reporting schemas, ETL, reporting cubes and Business Object universe design; perform data analysis; create reports; and conduct performance tuning.
  • Analyse what raw data is available and gather appropriate information.  Ensure robust and consistent criteria are applied when summarising data and for all reporting and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Address or highlight data integrity, confidentiality and availability issues.
  • Apply expert knowledge of standards, policies and organisational structure so that you can work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues across CTS and key stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership - advise, coach and mentor peers and less-experienced colleagues to enable them to contribute to the team’s goals and support their professional development.
  • Assure the quality of tasks, services and information provided by your team – through the quality of your own work and the support you provide to others.  Ensure that your team delivers high-quality, maintainable software which adheres to internal standards and policies
  • Use your judgement to proactively evaluate and resolve technical challenges and blockers to minimise their impact on the team’s delivery and/or supported products.
  • Research emerging technologies/practices and propose improvements and innovations that will help to drive the direction of the BI stack and will benefit the business e.g. more efficient development process or improved customer experience.
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences to: share knowledge and complex ideas; provide updates; influence; challenge; and take on feedback.
Skills & Experience
  • Significant experience of BI development and support in a medium to complex organisation.
  • Significant knowledge of the data management processes as well as the development of front-end reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Experience of SQL Server, BI toolkit (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Power BI) and SQL programming plus data visualisation and performance tuning is required.  SAP Business Objects is desirable.
  • Experience of Agile development is preferred.
