Under direct supervision, performs maintenance on existing software products. Assists in coding, testing, and debugging new software or making enhancements to existing software. . Writes programs according to specifications from higher level staff or business analysts. Makes suggestions for problem solutions or software enhancements. May assist in development of user manuals. Works with technical staff to learn and understand problems with software.
Primary Accountabilities
  • Works with Developers and Senior Developers to develop and maintain software and/or databases using the necessary languages (code/ systems) depending on the system.
  • Performs technical analysis/design work (on a global or local basis). May utilize experienced team members for assistance as necessary
  • Performs unit testing on code and assist with system testing and coordinates UAT (user acceptance testing).
  • Investigates technical issues when required, using the help of senior/experienced team members, as needed.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of projects, which includes the design and execution of acceptance test plans to ensure a successful implementation.  Perform thorough testing of your developed code.  Develop system documentation for all developed applications, including design and technical specifications.
  • Track and report development progress and performance on a regular basis. 
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned by management.

Education and Experience
  • Up to 3 years of professional, technical experience in a developer role
  • Demonstrated experience with adhering to usability, design and development standards
  • Demonstrated experience with all aspects of unit testing, performance testing and user acceptance testing
  • Strong understanding of software engineering and programming principals
  • Understanding and experience of SQL and larger scale databases
  • Understanding and experience of BI principals
  • Experience with developing SQL Server applications and optimization including DDL, DML, stored procedures, triggers, views, ETL, and performance tuning
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relational database experience within a multi-tiered environment; including use of database performance and monitoring tools
  • Experience with database development in a SQL Server environment.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence technologies such as SSRS, SSAS, SSIS and Power BI
  • Experience with varied source and version control systems
  • Mortgage Industry experience is a plus.
  • In -depth experience with various SDLCs, Waterfall and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Hybrid

Travel Required
It is expected that this position may include travel up to 10% of the time.  This is subject to change based on many factors, including business needs.
Language Ability
Ability to read/analyze/interpret business periodicals/ journals/technical procedures/gov. regulations; write reports/business correspondence/procedure manuals; effectively present information/respond to questions from managers/clients/customers/public.
Mathematical Ability
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane, and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
