We are looking for a number of Business Analysts to join us in our Edinburgh Office. We are currently setting up our Global Development Department so are on the lookout for talented individuals to be involved in this exciting programme of work.
Job Purpose
To understand the needs of Computershare’s business and technology stakeholders and define the changes required to deliver solutions that address these needs.
You will work as an integral part of a product-focused, cross-functional delivery team where you will build open and trusted relationships with your team and stakeholders.  You will help to define business vision and support business change, collaborating with Product/Business Owners to manage the Product Backlog.
Key Accountabilities
  • Demonstrate analysis techniques and facilitate collaborative sessions to elicit requirements from key stakeholders.
  • Liaise and work with 3rd Party Vendors to understand product capabilities and how best to utilise products to meet business needs
  • Use agile practices to stay responsive to business needs and to deliver value incrementally - find innovative ways to solve problems and to shape the delivery.
  • Write high-quality, clear User Stories and Acceptance Criteria from which the development team can estimate/size, plan and deliver changes.
  • Become a domain expert within your business line and associated systems.
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences to: share knowledge and complex ideas; provide updates; influence; challenge; and take on feedback.
  • Make and honour commitments as part of a cross-functional team - request help when needed, and ask team mates what you can do to help them.
 
Skills & Experience
Essential Experience
  • Proven ability to successfully gather requirements and get results with minimal supervision.
  • Significant experience liaising with stakeholders to elicit requirements, use of system design concepts, propose solutions and translate these for other members of the development team.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to collect and analyse complex material and data, and present it in accessible formats.
  • Experience of Agile software development – working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment, encouraging the adoption and continuous improvement of practices.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including international clients.
  • Experience performing a lead role on large and complex software development projects
  • Able to give advice, mentor and pass on knowledge.
  • Curious and continuous learner – investigates, interprets and grasps new concepts.
  • Pays attention to detail, finds root cause and takes a rigorous approach to problem solving.
 
Desirable Experience
  • A degree in Computing, Business, Information Systems or equivalent
  • Certification as a Business Analyst practitioner or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Share Registry/Transfer Agency, Employee Share Plan or Communications industries and markets is highly regarded.
