As a pivotal link between the Finance group based in Abbotsford and the broader Australian business, this role will support the Computershare Investor Services (CIS) Senior Accountant and be responsible for financial accounting, compliance, management reporting and commercial decision support for CIS Australia and New Zealand.
The position will require you to work closely with multiple teams and individuals including the CIS Senior Accountant, Regional Financial Controller and FP&A manager, as well as CIS Australia and New Zealand management teams.
You will support the CIS Senior Accountant to provide financial and compliance reporting for internal and external stakeholders, drive the budget/forecast process, provide commercial decision support and identify any process improvement opportunities. Through information gathering and collation you will also provide financial analysis of data and ad hoc reporting for key stakeholders, as well as building solid relationships across the business.
The key responsibilities include:
  • Assisting the Senior Accountant to deliver accurate month end financial and management reporting to internal stakeholders.
  • Assisting the Senior Accountant to support Business Unit managers in the budgeting and forecasting process, including analysing the output and preparing information pack for review with senior management.
  • Meeting all external reporting requirements for CIS Australia and New Zealand including preparation of statutory accounts for CIS NZ legal entities, providing information required for external audit and ATO/IRD reporting.
  • Assisting the Senior Accountant to provide Business Unit managers with financial support and commercial analysis as required.
  • Supporting the Senior Accountant, Business Unit Heads and Regional Financial Controller/FP&A manager on ad-hoc group and regional projects.
  • Responsible for managing the daily cash flow and intercompany transfers , and processing payments for Corporate entities and CIS Australia and New Zealand.
To ensure your success in this role you will bring:
  • Experience in an assistant accountant / accountant role
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong financial analysis skills and intermediate knowledge in Excel
  • High attention to details
  • Relevant degree CA / CPA part qualified
  • An understanding or working knowledge of Epicor, HFM Reporting and Hyperion Planning systems will be highly advantageous.
